Adolf Born

Many visual memories I have from being a child come from the books my family had in our home. My parents collected so many books, and sometimes I would just sit on the carpet and look at all the different books we had. The ones I was most interested in were the ones with the pictures...obviously. There were these two books in particular that I loved. They were czech cartoon books, by an artist named Adolf Born. I practically memorised all of the images. Born has such a humor that I adore. Resently I found a calendar (also hidden at my parents house) with these amazing pictures. I soon discovered that it was the same artist as the cartoonist that I loved so much. Here are some of his later pieces. I tried finding the cartoons that I used to read, but had a hard time. I will try to scan a few from the book, when I get a chance. But for now, here are just a few that I could find. Such playful beauty...
